Welcome to The Surf Club Mooloolaba

The Mooloolaba Surf Lifesaving Club was established in 1922 and has grown to become one of the premier Surf Lifesaving Clubs in Australia.

Our rich club history has set the solid foundations for what our club is based on today. We live by a set of morals and values outlining a strong community focus and emphasising tradition, respect and Australian Beach Culture.

An Iconic Club

Mooloolaba Surf Life Saving Club has 300 classified active patrol members who volunteer their time.

From September to May each year our volunteers perform over 14,000 patrol hours between them on Mooloolaba Beach as well as supporting surrounding clubs.

Combining the community service our members offer on patrol with the Council Lifeguard service, the beach is patrolled 7 days a week every day of the year.

Our Volunteers and Members

Training is a vital part of the operation of the Lifesaving Club with all patrol members trained by the volunteer Training Officers in lifesaving skills. These skills are updated each year to ensure a high standard is maintained. We also host a number of development camps for youth to ensure they are given the confidence and leadership skills required to lead a successful career in surf life saving.

Our training, education and development efforts don’t finish at the club. We reach out into the community and offer surf safety and awareness talks to school groups and people visiting from interstate and overseas.

Our club welcomes new members as we build for the future.

Fun and Fitness for the Whole Family

The Club offers various activities for members from Nippers to Masters. Surf Sports offers the members a chance to test their skills both on the water and on the beach with ski and board paddling, swimming, beach sprints and flags, surf boats and also lifesaving skills tested at local, state and national carnivals each season.
